4 Days Desert Trip from Marrakech to Merzouga, discover South Morocco, visiting: Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah Roses valley, Dades Gorges, Merzouga Desert, and the end tour at Marrakech.
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Valley of the Roses – Dades Gorges
Meeting at 8h00 a.m with your driver at your riad / Hotel, and depart from Marrakech to Dades valley, through the Tizi- N-Tichka pass (2260m) in the High Atlas Mountains. From Marrakech to Ouarzazate, you will enjoy the scenic road, beautiful landscapes with different colors, and the Berber villages along the way. You will have free time here to visit the old Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah as it has been named by UNESCO in 1987. Ait Benhaddou is a World Heritage site that has been used as a backdrop for more than 20 films including “Gladiator” “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”. Enjoy a walk to explore the traditional Moroccan style of architecture in which the Kasbahs are built, and have lunch. Afterward, you go further southeast to the green Dades valley and the city of roses via the fascinating Skoura palmary. Dinner and overnight in Dades valley.
Day 2: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga
After breakfast, depart from your hotel in Dades valley at 8 a.m., taking the road of 1000 kasbahs to drive around the colorful Berber villages of the Dades valley. 45 km further, you will get to Tineghir with its beautiful palm grove and Jewish quarter. You continue to Todra Gorges (Todgha), free time to go on a trek along the canyons of about 300m high, a favorite place for rock climbers. Afterward, you will leave for Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara desert and you will have time for lunch on the way before you arrive in Erfoud. Then we’ll head for the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Will be toward the 16.00 h we go to ride the camels who are waiting to take us on an adventure in the Sahara, of the sunset and, when we arrive at the camp dinner and fire with drums music in the middle of the Sahara, this is a great opportunity to take lovely pictures, we will spend the night in nomad tents.
Day 3 : Merzouga – Rissani – Ouarzazate
Early morning, you will wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, followed by breakfast in the camp the camel trek back to the hotel at the dune line for a quick shower. We drive to Rissani, a small Saharan town in southeast Morocco, where we can stop to visit a fossil workshop before we continue to Agdez and Draa valley junction where we head north to Ouarzazate after crossing the small volcanic Atlas Mountains. Dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate
Day 4 : Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast in Riad, we will have time to visit the famous Kasbah Taourirt and the Atlas Film Studios, the most important in Africa. We will be back in Marrakech around 5 in the afternoon to your accommodation, end of my services.
